The Power Of Letting Go

Letting go is one of the most powerful practices I’ve come to embrace, and it’s a process that’s as much about mindset as it is about action. It’s a conscious decision to release what no longer serves you—whether that’s outdated beliefs, unhealthy habits, or relationships that hold you back. When you make space by letting go, you create room for clarity, growth, and a deeper alignment with your true desires.

This journey isn’t about striving for perfection or getting rid of everything in your life—it’s about being intentional with what you choose to hold onto. The more you release what no longer serves you, the more you invite in what truly matters, what feels aligned with who you are at your core. It’s through this process of letting go that we create the life we’re meant to live—one that reflects our true self and what we truly want. Letting go has been one of the most transformative practices of my life, and it's a journey I've come to embrace fully. It’s something I feel deeply called to share with others, in the hopes that it can help you too.

My path has been shaped by moments that have required me to let go in order to move forward: emigrating to the other side of the world, building a business, navigating health challenges, and ultimately healing from past wounds. Every moment has shown me that letting go is not a one-time event; it’s an ongoing, evolving process—one that requires both action and a shift in mindset. And while it’s a significant part of our journey, it doesn’t have to define our whole story. It’s not always easy, but the more you let go, the more space you create for what really matters, what’s truly meant for you. That’s how we move forward—by embracing the act of release and allowing ourselves the space to grow into the people we’re meant to be, and the homes we create as a reflection of who we are.

It all began about four years ago when the realisation hit me that I had moved halfway across the world. I had built a humble, happy, and wholesome life with my young family in Australia, but suddenly, I felt uprooted—disconnected, lost, and unsure of my identity. I was raising my family in Australia, but a huge part of me still longed and belonged in England. After an entire year of reflecting and acknowledging on what it was I missed about life there, I began to understand what I wanted to carry forward and merge with my new life in Australia—and, just as importantly, what I needed to let go of. (It goes far deeper than sipping a cup of tea in the English countryside my friends…) I realised that the person I had been was no longer who I was becoming, and it was time to shed those old layers and embrace the next chapter of my journey. It was painfully hard but a step I wholeheartedly embraced as part of ‘my story.’

I needed to let go of my old identity—who I thought I was, who I had been, and the limiting beliefs I had carried—while still honoring the journey and positive qualities that shaped me. The act of emigrating, of starting anew on the other side of the world, became a powerful symbol of discovering who I truly was at my core—and where I needed to plant myself moving forward. As a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a granddaughter, a daughter-in-law, a business owner, a leader, a coach... each role shaped my path, helping me redefine what home, belonging, and purpose really mean.

This wasn’t about abandoning my past. It was about releasing the mental and emotional baggage that no longer served me within areas of my life that I had held onto. Only then could I make room for the life I truly wanted to build. I embarked on my journey to ‘merging my roots’ and allowing myself to fully embrace ‘two homes’ in my heart with no conditioning or expectation. This part of the journey in itself was soul giving!

That same principle applied as I dove into entrepreneurship. Starting a business made me confront my own perfectionism, limiting beliefs and fear, overcoming adversity and letting go of ingrained habits. I realised what was holding me back from being my truest self and growing a business I loved. I had to evolve not just in business, but as a person. The more I released those old patterns, the more space I created for clarity, growth, and the freedom to build something that truly reflected my values. My life, home, and business all share the same core values. And as so many of you know, I’ve been able to turn my personal journey of creating a home and life we love into a business that’s here to help you do the same!

Letting go wasn’t just liberating—it was incredibly empowering.

As my personal growth journey grew so did my health journey as I found myself facing health challenges. For years, I had struggled with chronic inflammation, anxiety, gut health issues and bad back pain, clinging to old habits and beliefs about my body that no longer served me. I had to let go of the idea that I was stuck with this “condition”—I had to confront my health in a new way. And finally pursue to get to the roots cause of all inflammation within my body. During this time, I realised how much emotional baggage I had been carrying—how deeply unresolved pain from my past had manifested in my body. My nervous system and back, were holding onto pain, creating physical tension and imbalance. It became clear that healing wasn't just about addressing the deep physical symptoms, but also releasing the emotional weight I had been carrying for so, so long. Letting go of this emotional burden became just as important as healing my actual body.

Healing my gut health became a metaphor for healing my emotional and mental health. I had to let go of old habits, fear, toxic relationships, and past trauma that were only contributing to the inflammation in my body. The more I let go of what was no longer serving me, the more room I made for healing, clarity, and growth. I stopped clinging to the belief that I couldn’t change.I created room for a new story, one grounded in empowerment and full of possibility.

During this time of healing, I also began to understand my genetics more deeply—how I’m wired, how I respond to stress and nutrition, and what my body truly needs on a biological and scientific level to function and thrive in today’s word. Understanding my genetic blueprint has been both liberating and fascinating. It’s given me the clarity to make choices that truly honor who I am. I stopped following generic advice that didn’t work for me, and instead, I embraced what felt right for my body and mind. Wholeheartedly jumping into integrative medicine and their philosophy was a huge turning point in my health journey. (Along with Neurological emotional technique) This approach aligned to one of my inner core questions and motto I follow, ‘there is a reason for everything’ and ‘why’. Your body is not a quick fix, nor is your mind, for change it requires deep un-conditioning and cleansing from the inside out. It is a journey for a reason, but if you want results, like anything in life, it requires consistency and belief!

Through all of this, I’ve learned that letting go isn’t about striving for perfection or stripping away all the character. It’s about being intentional with what you hold on to. It's not about eliminating everything that no longer serves you in one fell swoop—it’s about making conscious choices to clear out what no longer fits, and making room for what’s in alignment with who you truly are. Every time I’ve let go of something—whether it’s an outdated belief, a past wound or an old habit—I’ve created more space for what truly matters.

Letting go isn’t a one-time thing—it’s an ongoing journey. You’ll come back to this practice again and again, and each time, you'll find yourself stepping into a deeper version of your true self—more authentic, more aligned, and more purposeful.

As you reflect on your own life, ask yourself: what is it time to let go of? It might not be easy, but I promise, it’s worth it. Trust yourself, trust the process, and be kind to yourself along the way. Every small step you take brings you closer to the life you’re meant to live. And it’s through this act of letting go that true transformation unfolds.

I want to share a quick, mindset-driven exercise I absolutely love. It’s a simple practice that can help you release what no longer serves you, so you can step into the best version of yourself—both for you and for your home.

Step 1: Pause and Reflect

Take a deep breath. Close your eyes, and think about an area of your life where you feel stuck—maybe a belief, a habit, a decision, or a relationship. Get clear on how this thing ‘feels’ in your life right now.

Step 2: Identify What Needs to Go

Write down what you’re ready to release. Be specific. It could be a thought, a fear, or anything that’s been holding you back. Acknowledge it.

Step 3: Recognise Your Current Story

Ask yourself: What story am I telling myself about this? Maybe you’ve been saying, “I’m not good enough,” or “This is just how I am.” Write it down. Now, ask: What would be possible if I didn’t believe this anymore?

Step 4: Release and Create Space

Imagine physically letting go of this weight. Picture it clearly in your hands, then visualize releasing it—see it floating away or dissolving. (This might be when you pray or meditate; do what works for you in releasing what you need to let go of.) Feel the space it creates in your life. What new things can now enter because you’ve made room for them?

Step 5: Ask the Power Question

How do I want to feel? Shift your focus to the emotions and experiences you want to call in.

Ask yourself:

  • How do I want to feel now that I’ve let go?

  • How do I want to show up in my life going forward?

Write down your answers to help guide you into the future you desire.

Step 6: Make an Intentional Choice

Letting go is an ongoing practice. Ask yourself: What small action can I take today to let go further and create space for what I want? This could be setting a boundary, making a decision, or taking a step toward something more aligned with who you are.

Step 7: Commitment

End with a simple commitment:
“I choose to let go of what no longer serves me. I trust the process and know that by releasing this, I’m creating space for the life I truly desire.”
