Love, Need And Use.

As a philosophy and approach I teach, it focuses on creating a home with intention, tailored to your needs, goals, and values as an individual. Just as no two people are the same, our homes shouldn’t be either. It’s about aligning your home with your lifestyle, surrounding yourself with things you love, need, and use, and ensuring that everything has a place and a purpose. More importantly, it emphasises designing a thoughtfully curated and personalised home for those who live there—collected, refined, and authentic. The approach I teach involves creating a purposeful home that embodies a set of beliefs and principles about how living spaces should be designed and utilised. It requires a deeper understanding of the importance of the home environment on well-being, personal fulfilment, and lifestyle choices.

Have what you love, need and use in your home.

Five Benefits of Creating an Intentionally Designed Home

  1. Enhanced Well-Being: An organised and calm home reduces stress and promotes relaxation. By surrounding yourself with items that you love and use regularly, you create a space that brings joy and comfort, enhancing your overall well-being.

  2. Increased Efficiency: When everything in your home has a place and a purpose, daily tasks become easier and more efficient. This intentional organization saves time and effort, allowing you to focus on what matters most to you.

  3. Personal Fulfillment: Designing a home tailored to your needs, goals, and values ensures that your living space reflects who you are. This personal connection to your environment fosters a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction.

  4. Aesthetic Enjoyment: A thoughtfully curated home is visually pleasing and enjoyable to live in. By incorporating items and designs that resonate with you, your home becomes a beautiful and inspiring place to spend time.

  5. Adaptability and Flexibility: An intentionally designed home can easily adapt to changes in your life. As your needs and preferences evolve, a purposefully created space can be modified to continue supporting your lifestyle effectively.

Your next step:

Consider what matters most to you and how you want to live. Go deeper to understand your values, priorities, and goals, as these will guide you and keep you motivated on your journey to a more conscious home. To make it easier, be clear about your intention. Why do you want to make a change in your life? What do you want to achieve? For instance, my goal is to create a home that flows and feels calm, enhancing peace and purpose in day-to-day life so I can be more present with what matters most. My main reasons are peace, calm, and presence, which positively affect my mood.

How can I achieve this? It could involve reducing clutter to gain more time, space, and money, allowing more of what I love. It might mean arranging furniture functionally for those who live there, ensuring cohesion and flow to encourage conversation. Or perhaps it's establishing an evening ‘house clear up’ routine that is tangible and approachable after a busy day, so that you can wake up and feel energised in the morning because your house feels calm and you feel ready for the day ahead. Write a list of your goals in order of priority, and begin your journey!
