Roller Recipes
Did you know you can apply oils topically? We often choose the method of diffusing as its so effective, but we can also apply essential oils to our skin for incredible benefits too. This is actually one of my favourite ways to use them. From applying them to help elevate mood, relaxation and sleep, kiddie tantrums, wellness, respiratory support and more!!!
Roller Recipes
Combine oils in 10 ml Rollerball, top with V6 Carrier Oil from Young living or fractionated coconut oil and apply to desired area. Carriers oils help dilute and carry the oil over your skin. The reason I only use Young Living essential oils is the quality and purity friends. Essential oils and replicas are everywhere. And they are becoming increasingly popular too. Young living is the oldest standing essential oil company, and been producing essential oils since 1993. That to me is huge!! With over 50 scientists and they own their on farms. Some of our essential oils date back to biblical times. You get what you pay for.
They are so proud and confident of the purity you can visit and participate and oversee the planting, harvest and distillation process. Just like high quality, ethically and sustainably sourced products, Young Living practices a unique 5 step Seed to Seal® sourcing and science standard like no other. Seed, Cultivate, Distillation,Testing, Seal.
Two of the best questions you can ask are “How do I use them” And, “How do I use them safely?” We want you to know that we are here to answer that for you, today and every day! If you’re on our team, you know this. If you’re wondering if you should jump in tonight with a premium starter kit, know this: You will have a team of people walking alongside you in journey every single day. We have private facebook groups, webinars, classes and continual education so that you are equipped and ready to jump in and use your oils as soon as they arrive at your doorstep! Which is a free resource and you can be part of it as little or as much as possible.
Safety is important when it comes to using essential oils. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all of the information available, but using common sense and starting gradually will help ease any sort of intimidation you might feel as you begin using essential oils in your everyday life.
On the bottle itself, on Young Living’s website, and in our groups are guides to using EOs safely. Know that you can pull back the label on the bottle, and look up the oil on YL’s website always for suggested use, to know if dilution is recommended etc.
When storing essential oils, it’s important to keep them in a cool, dark place with lids tightly closed (and always out of reach of children). You’ll also want to keep carrier oils (like coconut, olive, vitamin e, sweet almond oil, v6 etc.) on hand for dilution. Always use and store EOs in glass containers, especially when drinking them in water, since most plastic products contain chemicals that can be broken down by the oil.
How to use essential oils-
There are three ways to use Young Living Essential Oils (YLEO): Topically, Aromatically, and by Ingestion.
+ Topically: Just rub the oils onto the skin
+ Diffusing: Using a diffuser, breathing in, diffuser jewelry
+ Ingesting: Vitality Oils- Cooking, drinking, in a capsule, directly in the mouth
+ TOPICALLY means to apply directly to the body. We always recommend you dilute your YLEO with a carrier oil – like coconut oil or grapeseed oil – until, at the very least, you know how your body is going to react to the oils. Many essential oils are “hot” oils, so you’ll always use a carrier oil with them. (Thieves, PanAway, and Peppermint are all examples of hot oils that should be diluted.) We always recommend using a carrier oil when applying oils topically to children.
+ AROMATICALLY means to breathe in the oils. In your kit, you’ll get a diffuser, and that’s the easiest way to use essential oils, but you can also put a drop or two in your hands and cup them over your nose and mouth and breathe deeply. You could even put a little essential oils on a cotton ball and stick it into the vents of your car!
+ INGESTING your oils means to swallow them – either in drink or food, or by filling a vegetable capsule. Some people are very comfortable with ingesting and others aren’t. This is a very personal choice and no one here will ever judge you based on your decision either way. Not all oils are made to be ingested, so please refer to the label of each oil for proper usage instructions. See our full culinary line here.
DILUTING OILS FOR KIDS AND BABIES!
Yes you can use your oils to support your young ones, just dilute your oils with a carrier oil. I have been applying rollers, ointments and massage blends on Teddy since he was 6 months old.
You are the gatekeeper of your home consult a health professional especially if your baby or child is sick.
Heavily dilute a new essential oil following the guide above and perform a spot test on your child’s arm or leg. If no reaction occurs after several minutes, the oil is probably okay to use.
Wear essential oils on your skin to help your kids acclimate to the fragrance.
Some essential oils can be challenging to a baby's sensitive system. We recommend caution when you use these essential oils with your infant. Hyssop, Sage, Clary Sage, Wintergreen and Eucalyptus.
