DIY Kids Play doh

DIY NON COOK PLAY DOH

This DIY play doh recipe from my mother in law is a favourite in our home! It’s easy and requires no cooking!

RECIPE

2 Cups Plain flour

2 Tbsp Vegetable oil

Half cup table salt

2 Tbsp cream of tar tar

1 Cup Boiling water (to get the right consistency it might be 1 + 1/2)

One drop colouring (optional- we kept ours natural)

We like to add 5 drops peace and calming essential oil for sensory play!

Eucalyptus, lavender, or peace and calming essential oil. (optional, we love to add it for sensory play!)

METHOD-

Add all dry ingredients in a bowl

Add vegetable oil + colour ( we used a teaspoon of spirulina mixed with hot water)

Add water (be careful with boiling water!! Add slowly + in increments till smooth consistency)

Then Add Essential oils

MIX + MIX with a wooden spoon- then use hands to knead!

Store in airtight container or silicone zip lock bag.

Other oils that are great, peppermint for focus, lemon and orange for a playful play... the list is endless, you can also match the oils with colour! Spirulina powder with peppermint, turmeric with Orange...

We made them as party favours for the kids birthdays.

They make the cutest gift when wrapped in ribbon. These are the bags we used.
