Beautiful Table Scape in Four Simple Steps
Today I am sharing with you my easy steps to creating a beautiful table scape you will love!
CONCEPT/THEME
Choose your concept, the most important stage of your styling!
A concept refers to the theme or idea that guides the styling and arrangement of the table setting. This years table is, 'Whimsical Easter garden'. Rustic wood with Lindt gold bunnies, green foliage, magnolia branches from the garden.
LINEN AND COLOUR SCHEME
Choose your linen and colour scheme. Your colour scheme will be easier to choose once you have your concept.
You can never go wrong with a white tablecloth. I also Incorporated linen duck egg blue placemats and napkins, which adds a touch of whimsical Beatrix potter aesthetic. Linen always gives you the option to style creatively, a crisp fold or loosely placed over the edge.
FOLORAL / FOLIAGE
Select your foliage. Either from a florist, nature walks, the garden or even the grocery store!
My rule for floral has always been, less is more, then layer. It always starts with a centrepiece, in a vase or three and layered in between with a variety of height. I chose magnolia and green foliage in a vase, which allows the gold Lindt bunnies to be the hero element on a pedestal peeking out beneath the 'garden beds.'
STYLING AND DETAILS
It's all about the details, Layer and fine tune.
To enhance the look and my concept for a whimsical easter garden, I then layered pops of rustic pinks and gold mini eggs adding a touch of 'glam' to the garden setting. Once you are happy with your table setting, take a step back and edit... ask yourself these questions.
Is there enough room to put serving dishes down?
Can you talk to people and see them clearly? Or are flowers in the way?!
Do I need to remove anything because it feels cluttered?
Are there any gaps I need to fill?
Does it feel cohesive?
Once you are happy, enjoy!
