Teddy’s Bedroom Reveal

This is a HUGE transformation!! I know we all love a good before and after… so are you ready??

Teddy’s room took a good few months to complete, so GOSH I’m excited it’s finished! It’s an awkward room in the centre of the house, it measures 3.6m x 2.1m with a large window skylight that opens up and has a block out remote blind. It’s a snug room that just needed a thoughtful design and a little love.

AFTER:

Yes, it is the same room! We VJ panelled half the walls to add dimension and definition which encourages the eye to move upward making it feel larger, and by choosing a dark wall colour it really frames the space. Sometimes when you have a low lit room, going light and bright isn’t always the best solution! Of course my love for sage green had to make an appearance somewhere though, so yes, Wallpaper!!! I will never tire of a classic patterned wallpaper, especially one like Teddy’s which has a touch of whimsy when paired with the other elements of his room.

You can’t beat up-cycling a chest of drawers to breathe new life into a space right?! It’s cost effective and can have a huge impact within a room when just painted with a new colour and drawer pulls. I wanted to encourage the eye to flow and move around the room as it’s already a rather small space, so by painting the drawers the same colour as the walls there is a sense of continuity and seamlessness.

Just like every space designed in our home, it’s to reflect those who live there. Teddy is obsessed with trains so I couldn’t pass up getting him train prints for one wall and bookshelves for him to stack his trains on, (which he does on a nightly basis.) This room completely captures Teddy’s little character and personality.
