Guest Ensuite
The time has finally arrived to renovate the guest ensuite! To say I’m excited is an understatement. This is the only room in our home that has been untouched since we moved in 5 years ago and untouched from the first owners in the 1950’s. Thats right, original tiles, shower, basin and loo, everything is original! Yikes this is going to be a fun project and amazing before and after to share with you. The ensuite is small and narrow measuring .9m x 2.7m, see below for some shock horror photos! No judgement please.😜
We are excited to take you along the journey of this project. And for pretty much the first time, we will be outsourcing the Framing, plumbing, walls and floor and tiling! We would love to get as much done of this bathroom renovation completed before Christmas. Are we crazy? Maybe! But I think it’s possible. The last two months there has been a lot of planning and organising to so that when we start, we can move things quickly along. (We all know there could be hiccups along the way like any project, so taking it with a pinch of salt and allowing time for that of course.) But we are just going to do our best. Ben will be demolishing the bathroom. And no my friends, we will not be keeping or repurposing the tiles, or any other bathroom accessories. They are very old, yuk and damaged. Goodbye! This bathroom will likely be wet with little or no waterproofing too, (1950’s quick remodel we are thinking) Which will determine how we go about this project. Let’s find out shall we?
What will be required.
Remove walls, Ceiling and floors. Leaving an empty shell.
Re locate the plumbing as needed
New floors and lining
Waterproofing
Screed for the floor
Tiling
New window
Instalment of Tap ware and vanity

Stay tuned on instagram to follow along the demolition and process. And keep an eye out for the best part… The design and moodboard coming soon!
