Pillow Styling Tips
Since pairing pillows can be tricky, here are a few tips for styling pillows on your sofa or dinging banquet. Follow these simple rules and you’re sure to love the outcome!
Pillow Styling Tips Sofa:
1. Two options for the sofa. Style three pillows on one side and two on the other or Two and Two with a lumbar in the middle for a 3 seater sofa.
2. Variate the size. 50cm x 50cm, 45cm x 45, 40cm x 40cm pillows for three and two on the other side. And 50cm x 50cm, 45cm x 45 with a lumbar around 50cm x 30cm. Ensure the pillow insert is 5cm larger than the pillow cover itself. We prefer to have feather inserts for the plush look.
3. When pairing pillows, combine plain, stripe, and pattern and with different textures too. For example linen paired with vintage kilim.
Pillow Styling Tips Banquet:
1. Depending on the size of your banquet, pick a corner focal point and work from there. Three or two pillows can work. Again with a variation of size texture and style. 50cm x 50cm with a 45cm x 45cm layered in front.
Coordinating colours:
1.Choose your main colour to work with for the space. It might be a colour from an artwork in your space that you love, or a rug you have. The colour could be anything from the rainbow. Just pick one or two. Once you have decided on a colour-way and tone, use this particular colour-way to subtly carry throughout your pillow scheme. A simple thread linking to each other, whether it be a block print, a stripe or even an embroidered symbol. It will be a dancing harmony throughout your pillows, beautiful and effortlessly coordinated.
